We’re excited to share the playlist we made for Levy Market’s mixtape series. The market has asked local record labels, venues and independent music organisations to put together playlists that are played at Levenshulme Market and available to listen to online.
The series is raising money for the Musician’s Union Coronavirus Hardship Fund and listeners are encouraged to donate whatever they can. We’ve included tracks from up-and-coming artists like Kestrel Palace and Goddard, alongside classics from 808 State and The Durutti Column.
Levy Market operates every weekend between March and December in Levenshulme in south Manchester. The Market launched as a Community Interest Company in 2013 with a vision to improve the high street.
We hope you enjoy the playlist and really recommend checking out Levy Market – they are a volunteer-run social enterprise and do great work in Levenshulme.
We shared out playlist with our members first, you can join them for just £3 / month.
